When you have a shop full of lifelong carpenters with 25–30+ years of experience, it gives you the flexibility to build things that simply aren’t possible in a more assembly-driven shop. We’ve capitalized on that experience and developed what we believe is one of BC’s top line-ups of small homes—most of them, not so tiny.
If architecture and charm are high on your list, take a moment to imagine yourself on vacation, or even living full-time in a small home that has so much individuality and charm that you’ll want to share the experience with others.
Copperstone homes are built using the same proven construction methods and energy standards as our other Rover homes.
The Elkhorn and the Apex take the familiar Ironstone level of finish and add more architectural complexity, larger features and more distinctive design. The Rexford and Black Tusk go a step further, with more opportunity for client input into finishes, fixtures, cabinetry and other design details.
Because the homes in this line vary so much in layout, architecture and finish level, there is no single specification sheet that accurately represents every Copperstone model. Contact us for the complete specifications for the model you’re interested in.
A luxury portable cottage is a compact home designed to offer the comfort and appearance of a traditional cottage while remaining transportable. Unlike a standard trailer or RV, these cottages are built with residential-style finishes, upgraded insulation, full kitchens, proper bathrooms, and comfortable living areas. At Rover Tiny Homes, we design portable cottages that are suitable for recreational properties, guest accommodations, vacation rentals, and year-round living in many parts of BC.
Yes. We build portable cottages with BC’s climate in mind. Many models include high-quality insulation, durable siding, energy-efficient windows, and heating systems that help maintain comfort through wet coastal winters, snowy Interior conditions, and changing temperatures throughout the Fraser Valley. The exact specifications can vary depending on the model and how the cottage will be used.
Yes. Many of our clients choose to personalize layouts, colours, and finishes. Some people want a more modern minimalist look, while others prefer a warm cabin-style interior that fits naturally into mountain or lakeside settings. Our team can help tailor the design to suit both your lifestyle and your property.
Portable cottages are commonly placed on rural land, recreational properties, lakeside lots, family acreage, and private campgrounds. Placement requirements can vary depending on local zoning regulations, utility access, setbacks, and certification standards. We can explain the certification options available and what may be required before delivery.
The size depends on the model and certification type. Some cottages are designed to remain compact and highly mobile, while others offer expanded layouts with larger kitchens, separate sleeping areas, lofts, and additional storage. The goal is to maximize usable living space while maintaining portability and efficient design.
Yes. We design portable cottages with the features people expect from a traditional home. Depending on the model, your cottage may include a full kitchen with modern appliances, a bathroom with a shower or tub, built-in storage, dining space, and comfortable sleeping areas. Many layouts are designed to support extended stays or full-time living.
Portable cottages are designed to be moved to your property by professional transport companies. Site access, road conditions, slope, and foundation preparation can all affect delivery planning. Properties in mountainous regions, remote areas, or narrow rural roads may require additional coordination before installation. Once the portable cottage arrives on your property, it will either be placed on a permanent foundation or it can be placed on blocks to leave the option for future transport open.
They can be an excellent option for vacation rentals, especially in tourism-heavy areas throughout BC such as the Shuswap, Sunshine Coast, Kootenays, and Vancouver Island. Many property owners use portable cottages to create private guest accommodations that feel more comfortable and distinctive than a traditional cabin or RV setup.
